“ Loved, loved very fresh and authentic. And the owner was so nice. He even did a selfie. I told him the sandwiches are outstanding ”
“ The fam woke up early to try to get to 'the fountain' (you know the one!) for some unencumbered pics (the night before there must've been a thousand people blocking the darn thing) and... a good 200 people were already here. (Including more than a few 'marriage shots' and 'fashion shots' at the crack of dawn.) Quick pivot for breakfast just a few feet down the alley found us here. Quaint (small) inside, a few tables outside (which is where we plopped down). Occasionally having married couples walk past us down the alleyway as their professional photographers snapped away. (It was a bit bizarre and fascinating.) And within a few minutes we had our absolute fave 'cornetto' for the entire vacation. (And trust me - when you're in Italy you'll definitely have more than your fair share for breakfast.) Fantastic cappuccino (don't you dare order one after 11am!) with the absolute best croissant (I know, a cornetto isn't a croissant, but c'mon already!) - bursting with pistachio cream-filling and sprinkled with crushed pistachio on top. Sheesh, I could go for one of those right about now. By the time we were ready to leave there was a line to get it, the door blocked by a red rope - giving me flashbacks to nightclubs in NYC decades ago. ”
“ We targeted this spot from the get go near the Trevi fountain in Rome. We weren't sure whether to get 1 or 2 but it was early and we were just coming in from an early morning flight. We ordered one to account for other pastries but I will say this was the best croissant I've ever had! 5 stars for perfection. There isn't much more to say here. You want an amazing croissant; get this one from this spot and you won't regret it! ”
“ I came here twice late morning like 10-11am and this area is busy with walking tourist but if you see a line don't be scared half the people are in line to take too go orders and some waiting for tables and the waiters will ask to see who is waiting for a table and get you it ready the croissants are soo good and I'm not a pistachio fan but that cream was so good and not overly sweet. The maritozo is like a pastry bread cut like a hot dog and filled with a whipped cream not super sweet but really good and fun to eat definitely a little messy but worth it. ”
“ Always in a mood for croissants! Funny how we stumbled upon this cafe while at the Trevi Fountain and little did we know it was such a popular known spot! We were enjoying our breakfast, which BY THE WAY, was top notch we've never had such a soft croissant this light and flaky before the coffee was also very delicious we tried cafe freddo with milk , because why not, when in Rome right? this cafe is such a must and if you can get a seat where you overlook the fountain, then it's even better! The service is quick the place is so popular and gets crowded quickly and we even woke up at 5:00am to go to the fountain and get afterwards and we got the LAST table it was SOOOOOOOOO worth it! ”
“ This cafe is an absolute gem located adjacent to the Trevi Fountain. Of all the chocolate croissants I had during my time in Italy (and trust me, I've had a lot) this croissant was exponentially more delicious than any others- I don't know how they do it. The dough was perfectly flaky and the Nutella/chocolate combo was so delicious and gooey! The espresso was also incredible and paired together was perfecto! Enjoying the sweet breakfast in front of the trevi fountain was an unforgettable experience. If you're in Rome, you must try the chocolate croissants here! ”
“ Upon coming to Rome, I was told I had to try the maretozzo- a traditional Roman pastry filled with cream. We came to this place based off of the good reviews and it's location so close to trevi fountain. We sat outside and enjoyed the free Wi-Fi. The wait staff was obviously rushed and did not seem to care to be friendly to us... could be an Italian thing! I did not like that their restroom was FILTHY and flooded with water, but I was forced to use it because in Rome you do not use a business's restroom without buying something. The pasty display was a bit of a turn off as we saw flies landing on the food, but we've eaten grosser things! The pasty did not disappoint. The brioche was incredibly moist, the cream was generously spread and just sweet enough. I wish I had gotten an espresso to go along with it. This is a good place to rest when near Trevi Fountain! ”
“ Stopped in here for a quick breakfast. It's very close to the Trevi fountain, so you might pay a little more than other places but it was perfect for a quick bite after visiting the fountain early in the morning. We grabbed a table outside. It's perfect for people watching, as people zip by the busy corridor. The pistachio croissant was a delight. The cappuccino was perfect. The Maritozzi was the best we had on the trip. Maritozzi is a kind of bread filled with whipped cream. Very basic but this one was super soft, not overly sweet and just perfect to pair with a coffee. Glad we stumbled upon this little spot. ”
